Description
Sewell Wallis are recruiting a Compliance Finance Manager role for an Internationally recognised Professional Services firm with their Head Office proudly situated in Leeds. The firm has grown year on year and is recognised as being at the forefront of the profession and offering world class services.

This is a high profile role in which you will take ownership for the Finance regulatory policy, processes, governance and controls across all areas. Due to the importance of the role you will be expected to interact with C-suite level execs on multiple projects driving a best in class approach to all areas with particular focus on SRA client money compliance.

Key responsibilities:

• Research, document and implement a full suite of international accounting policies that creates a consistent finance governance and control framework
• Manage the escalation of complex queries and mitigation of breaches on a global scale
• Keeping abreast of SRA Accounts rules and develop and implement a process to review these policies to ensure that they stay up to date with relevant legislation, international financial reporting standards and changes to the business
• Implement a robust internal auditing program for SRA compliance
• Develop and deliver training on key areas - generic issues or new policies identified as business critical
• Liaising with the Risk function to ensure alignment of policy and regulatory requirements across processes impacting both Finance and Risk

Your background:

• Have experience of developing a strong control environment (preferably within the legal sector)
• Be able to produce clear Executive level reports on the issues identified and actions needed to resolve those issues.
• Have the influencing and negotiation skills to persuade stakeholders to proceed on the actions required.
• Has experience of operating within a regulated environment and dealing with client money is highly desirable
